You finally managed to get the man of your dreams to get down on one knee and pop the big question, “Will you marry me?” Now comes the stressful part – the wedding planning.

For those of you that have been there, done that, you know exactly what I’m talking about. The venue, the table settings, the photographer – so many decisions to make in such little time. When I was planning my own wedding, I found going to bridal events to be extremely helpful. You’re able to acquire tons of vendor information – from bridal gowns to DJs – all in one afternoon.

World Yacht held their very first free bridal event this past Saturday, right before wedding season gets into full swing. A favorite venue for weddings and celebrations themselves, they invited brides-to-be to peruse a variety of vendors while sipping on Champagne and munching on samples of wedding cake and passed hors d’ouevres, and have the opportunity to chat with wedding planners, all on one of their beautiful yachts. They also had the chance to win a dinner for six aboard one of their yachts (perfect opportunity for the bride and groom’s parents to meet!).

Unlike most bridal events that I’ve attended in the past, none of the vendors were overly pushy — which can be a downside to these types of affairs. The event hosted vendors for gown designs (Angelo Lambrou), table linens (Premier Skirting), invitations (Alpine Creative Group), wedding cakes (Homestyle Desserts), and more.

If you’re in the midst of planning a wedding (or have an inkling that you will be soon) and missed this past weekend’s smorgasbord of all things wedding, fear not — World Yacht is planning on hosting another bridal event in October.
