While Fashion Week was in full force last week, Casio hosted a different type of party. In the heart of Times Square at the elegant Edison Ballroom, Casio introduced their newest Privia Air Sound Source Piano at the event and featured performances by Karmin, Tom Brislin & Enferno.
All guests were treated like VIPs with a heavily stocked open bar, complete with flowing bubbly champagne. The staff passed around hors d’oeuvres like Beef Wellington. Upstairs near a station where attendees were testing out Privia’s new piano model, a buffet of small bites waited with beef, tuna and salmon sliders and an assortment of sushi options. Later in the night mini chocolate tarts and cheesecake bites were served.
The main event of the night though was undoubtedly the music. DJ Enferno, known for remixing on site instead of pre mixing like most DJs, exhibited his skills in between sets. The headliner, Karmin, proved why their career had gone from YouTube to SNL almost overnight. Amy Heideman’s versatility as a singer and her ability to sing current rap songs would rival a lot of urban talent today with ease.
Once the show was over no one left empty handed. Media left with bags comprised of CDs of the performers that night, a Privia polo and a catalogue of the new merchandise.
