For many New Yorkers Miami is a second home. We are less than 3 hours away from fine cuisine, shopping, and most importantly the beach! And tucked in the posh neighborhood of South Beach on Collins Ave. blocks away from the loud obnoxious party hotels with the cramped rooms, is a beautiful quaint oasis called the Ithaca South Beach Hotel. The Ithaca’s hospitality is unmatched, the rooms are spacious & beautifully decorated, and (although it is a cliche) you truly feel like you are at a home away from home.
The Ithaca is a true boutique hotel, merely a half a block from South Beach, with upscale amenities like a complimentary continental breakfast and a European style Wine and Cheese hour (including champagne) for hotel guests every evening. The hotel opts out of having a traditional check in desk which really gives you that home like feeling. Instead guests are greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne upon check in, and thanks to the hotel’s state of the art surveillance system they are ready and prepared to help you with your bags quickly check you in and show you to your room.
Now let’s talk amenities! The hotel has 11 very spacious studios, each is equipped with Wi-Fi, WEB TV with wireless keypads, Pandora music channel, Premium Web TV Channels, Netflix, and dock stations for your phone. Modern European style bathrooms with extra-large shower heads, and fine towels and linens. Heading to the beach? The hotel provides you with a chair, towels, and a beach bag (feel free to take it home).
And,if you are like us one of the things you love about most about Miami is its NIGHTLIFE! Luckily if you are staying at the Ithaca you will have the assistance of (hands down one of the best concierges in South Beach–Dion. Dion who’s motto is he always tries to give his guests the “most for the least” can get you discounts on sports games, water sports, he knows the best nights to go to the best clubs, he even has the 411 on the best restaurants in town. We approve!
One of the things that makes the Ithaca hotel truly special and a genuine hidden jewel is the fact that they strive to make yo feel as if you are home. The amazing staff even organizes dinners in the reception area, coordinate reservations, and absolutely go above and beyond. This is one of the things I love about boutique hotels, there is always an attention to detail that is lacking in your bigger chain properties (look for the quotes in your room). There is something indescribable about the Ithaca that gives you the feeling that you are more than just another guest ,you are special and welcomed. And, honestly what more could you ask for!
