The Whitney Museum of American Art presented its 22nd Annual American Art Award, designed by artist Anne Collier, to Reed Krakoff, Martin Z. Margulies, The Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation and Michael Ward Stout in New York City.
Guests enjoyed cocktails provide by D’USSE and were able to bid on Reed Krakoff Track Tote bags exclusively created for the event by artistsKate Gilmore, Nan Goldin, Adam Helms, Kiki Smith and the designer himself.

Over $1.6 million was raised in support of the Whitney Museum’s Independent Study Program and other Whitney educational initiatives. Guests were able to purchase exclusively created tote bags designed by Reed Krakoff and Whitney artists Kate Gilmore, Nan Goldin, Adam Helms and Kiki Smith. The Whitney Museum’s American Art Award is given each year to individuals and organizations that have made a sustained commitment to the artistic and cultural heritage of the arts in America.
All honorees have shown an outstanding commitment to American visual arts and culture, and to the mission of the Whitney through their exceptional stewardship of artists and innovation in their respective fields. They include Reed Krakoff, Martin Z. Margulies, The Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation and Michael Ward Stout.
