The Museum Council is Boston’s premier arts enthusiast group for young professionals age 21-45 and provides essential unrestricted operational support for the MFA.
Invited guests enjoyed afterhours access to the Linde Family Wing for Contemporary Art and started the evening off at the museum’s Bravo Restaurant for some delicious custom libations and light dinner fare. DJ KOS KOS set a cool vibe and the atmosphere was replete with intellectuals and well-heeled young Bostonians who mingled with the council members as nonmember guests were encouraged to join with prize drawings for an iPad, tickets to the Museum Council’s famous Summer Party, and gift cards for Eastern Standard Bar and Restaurant.
Following a welcome from Emi Winter, Museum Council Steering Committee Chair, guests divided up into groups and were treated to special tours of the museum. Programs included topics in photography, sculpture, design, contemporary art, Hollywood fashion and jewelry, landscapes, ancient Grecian art, as well as a behinds the scene look at producing museum exhibitions. There were also great opportunities to explore between the groups and independently view the open exhibits in the wing.
For young professionals who want to rub elbows with the future elite of Boston, or more pure art enthusiasts, joining the Museum Council is a no-brainer since it gives you access to arguably the best museum in Beantown along with great access to exclusive event.
