On Saturday November 11th, 2017, hundreds of do-gooders found their golden tickets and packed into the Westin Boston Waterfront hotel to celebrate the annual gala for the Boston Children’s Hospital League.
The League’s mission is to provide crucial non-clinical patient care programs like music and art therapy at Boston Children’s Hospital which enhances patient care and spirits.
The gala event board outdid themselves with a “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” theme, replete with everlasting gobstoppers and giant lollipops. Always a highlight of the evening were the teddy bears being sold by the League members children to donate to patients, and the wide variety of amazing silent and mini-live auction items during the open bar cocktail hour.
NBC Boston news anchor JC Monahan acted as emcee and introduced this year’s gala co-chairs Michelle Lev and Jennifer Rosen, followed by remarks by Boston Children’s Hospital Trust President Lynn Susman.
Guests enjoyed a streamlined light three course dinner as patient family speaker Heidi Bertelli Dietrich detailed her family’s experience in benefitting from the League’s programs and patient supports, highlighting the importance of their crucial fundraising efforts.
Auction Knights legendary auctioneer John Terrio helped guests open their wallets in a high stakes live auction to raise funds for the League’s Camp and Child Life Services. The only thing missing were the Oompa Loompas!
Happy Golden Ticketing,
