New York has the reputation of not having great BBQ and that you can only find proper BBQ in the south. However, JAX B-B-Q, recently opened in Hell’s Kitchen, puts all of those notions to shame.
Pitmaster and owner Nick Accardi has brought a new concept to Hell’s Kitchen with JAX B-B-Q, a destination for real wood pit barbecue, craft black angus burgers, frozen margaritas, and craft beer.
When they say the décor is rockabilly Americana garage they are not joking. LOVE LOVE LOVE the décor of this place. A mix between divvy, 80s and hipster. It is the weirdest combination but it rocks! Now come to think of it, thinking this is the place to go for girl’s night out next weekend. Come join us. It will be awesome.
The food was so good and the quality was impeccable. The hot links from Esposito Meat Market was to die for. The brisket was juicy and tasty, but ask for the sauce on the side – they like their BBQ sauce quite a bit. The flavor of the brisket, my mouth is running from simply remembering the flavor of this awesome brisket.
The catfish was the best catfish I have ever had and I have tried a few. It is not an easy fish to make tasty but it was cooked to perfection. Their burgers and sandwiches were excellent, but remember you are there for the cherry and Birchwood fire pit, so don’t waste your chance in getting some incredibly flavored meats.
Their desserts are from Little Pie Company so they won’t disappoint either. but what they do know how to make it is their frozen margaritas. And did I mention they have a great happy hour from 3-6? $5 margaritas. Who can beat that?
The personnel is great too. They are friendly, knowledgeable and always smiling. I am so excited for this place in Hell’s Kitchen and I am rooting for it. Dive in on the meat, keep the drinks coming, and you will do just fine.
