September 24th: Happy Halloween! No, I’m not still drunk from last night’s debauchery. Or am I? One of many events last night was the unveiling of one of NYC’s premier haunted houses – Blood Manor. I am a sucker for all things scary, so I met the challenge head on, with the help of a few cocktails prior.

The SS crew was invited to take an early preview of the haunted house and test our wits: There are twists, turns, and unimaginable 3D horrors that will leave your ears ringing from the gut wrenching screams that you won’t even realize belong to you! One of my worst nightmares as a kid featured Freddy Krueger and let’s just say, I relived those childhood days of trying to stay awake so that I wouldn’t see that decaying face, sharp fingers and black and red striped shirt.

If you love being scared out of your wits, or even if you think you’re way too cool to even think about getting scared, go check out the endless maze that is Blood Manor. The characters are intense – but, not to worry, they don’t touch you, they may breathe creepily on your neck a little bit.

Blood Manor will run through the month of October on Thursdays through Sundays and the three days before Halloween, open until 1a.m. General admission tickets are $25, plus a $3.50 handling fee and can be bought by phone. For at the door tickets, the price knocks up a few notches ($30), but no fee and can only be purchased the night that you wish to attend. There are also R.I.P. tickets (get it?) that are a little pricier, but just check the link and see which works better for you.

All you have to do is survive.

PS. Buy your tickets as soon as you can! Blood Manor is ALWAYS sold out every year.
