March 3rd: PR Design Group celebrated their 6th year anniversary with an art exhibit and book launch event in a loft-style space in Chelsea, hosted by Jordana PR. Although their primary expertise is architecture, their coffee table book is a composite of elegant photographs taken by the two partners of the firm, Gustavo Penengo and Philip Rossillo.
The space was decorated with pictures of their architectural accomplishments, showing the “before” state of what their clients came to them with and going through the phases of transformation, resulting in their beautiful designs. They have designed world-renowned venues in Europe, Miami, and New York, as well as celebrity homes in LA.
I was able to talk to Rossillo who told me about a house on display they revamped in the Hamptons. Owned by a modest Locksmith Brisbane, they changed the once simplistic home into a complex work of art that looks as if the house is suspended in air, sitting atop of stilts.
He also talked about a penthouse project he has in the UES: an expansive apartment with a 75-foot terrace where they transformed most the walls to glass windows. They even made the bathroom walls glass so that the client can see the entire view of New York while sudsing himself up in the shower. Extravagance at its finest!
There was a chef’s station featuring French-American hor d’oeuvres by 5-star Tocqueville, and a sushi chef from 15 East that took individual requests for your roll order. In addition, drinks were sponsored by Sapporo Beer and NUVO Vodka, the first bubbly vodka with sparkling wine and infused with natural fruit nectar.
