Toni Francesc held his runway show at Bryant Park’s Salon, titling his presentation Water’s Mood, inspired by the poetry of water: “Water is life and consciousness, and its states create parallels with our moods.”
Representing water in the colors, in the flowy silhouettes, and in the silky sheen of the fabrics, the collection was an elegant depiction of water as apparel. Dresses and blouses were draped with smooth folds and pleats, creating waves and layers on the models.
Toni Francesc studied at the Catalan Fashion Institute and started his own line with a fresh, urban taste to specialize in dressing young, sophisticated women. Francesc has also been involved with costumes for various Spanish television series and for dance and theater groups. His past collections have been featured at Fashion Week Russia, Mexico, nad various presentations in Hong Kong, Barcelona, and Berlin.
Sponsored by Salerm, guests received an abundance of products to test at home – shampoos, conditioners, styling products, and cosmetics. Not only was I one of the lucky guests to score this swag bag of products, but I was seated in the first row, front and center!
Typically reserved for VIP celebs and socialites, I felt highly out of place, completely exposed to the watchful, judgmental eyes of the fashion industry. I sat next to Simon van Kempen, husband and arm accessory to Real Housewives of NYC’s Alex McCord. Across the catwalk was Project Runway’s 5th seasons winner, Leanne Marshall, and singer Stephanie Vara also made an appearance.
Francesc’s collection for Spring 2010 will be available in the CECE Feinberg Showroom from the 16th ro the 26th of September, located on 336 West 37th Street, here in NYC. Call (212.939.7265) to make your appointment to see it for yourself!
