In an age of vanity and narcissism, and the media fueling the ideals of “perfect body image,” plastic surgery is becoming even more prevalent in our society today. No longer limited to just celebrities and high-society, just about anyone can get plastic surgery. More and more men and women worldwide are committing to surgery to enhance their looks, whether it is to hold back the signs of aging or to correct a facial or body feature that they believe could be made more attractive. Knowing what to look for in a cosmetic surgeon will be the first and most important step that should be taken by anybody considering committing themselves to enhancement surgery. Click here to read plastic and cosmetic surgeon in jonhan city. It should be understood that plastic surgery, which includes the practise of cosmetic surgery, is so called from the Greek plastikos to shape or mould, and does not have any association with the use of plastic material. According to my friend, a plastic surgery Chicago expert, plastic surgery is said to date back 4000 years when records show reconstructive surgery was carried out in India. The Romans and later the Arabs also practised simple surgical techniques and by the 15th century the skills began to develop in Europe.
Although the techniques and surgical skills began developing beyond recognition in the twentieth century with the mainly facial reconstruction of badly wounded or burned servicemen and civilians resulting from the two world wars, the basis of plastic surgery has not significantly changed. Either by grafting skin or other tissue such as fat or muscle from either another part of the patient’s body or from a donor or by removing surplus fat, bone, skin etc. remain the principal basic techniques.
Probably the two most important benefits to plastic surgery has been the development of sterile procedures and anaesthetics, thus dramatically reducing the occurrence of infection and enabling control of post operative pain. The worldwide boom in cosmetic surgery shows no sign of slowing down despite the recession. Because of the big bucks that can be made the temptation to cash in by ill trained and under qualified fringe medical practitioners has never been greater.
Some countries have strict controls, the UK for example will only allow members of The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons who are on the specialist register of the General Medical Council to hang out their shingle advertising that they have qualified and are approved to practise cosmetic surgery. The demographic is getting younger and younger: just take a look at Heidi Montag (if you dare). She has admitted that is addicted, with reports of having gotten 10 procedures done in one day! And it shows. We are The Dermatology & Laser Group. Located at the heart of manhattan botox near Central Park, we offer the best Botox in NYC. At The Dermatology & Laser Group, we understand the side of anyone—man or woman—who wants to look fresh, untouched by time and free from the evidence of stress in life. Botox is a simple process by which a chemical injection essentially freezes the targeted facial muscles, putting a temporary stop to the wrinkling process. The result? Firm, natural-looking skin that appears younger almost instantly. The process takes effect in just a few short days and the look lasts a few months. The return on your investment is high as you don’t come back right away, and your timeless look stays with you for relatively long time. Eyebrow microblading is a form of permanent makeup that is also known as microstroking, The natural look of the face becomes radiantly expressive and smart with a good set of eyebrows. Poor growth or erratically plucked damage brows are a source of embarrassment and unhappiness for many. Often people keep fiddling with their natural shape to look better. Each hair strand is individually marked and meticulously designed on the brow region and beautifully designed perfect brows are drawn in just about two hours. The brow color starts to fade in a couple of years and a retouching session with the artist has to be scheduled. Microblading supplies include a waterproof drawing pencil, pen, numbing cream, microblades, pigment colors, and many more. The removable waterproof pencil is used to mark the brow shape which is customised after a discussion with the client. The artist performing the process needs to possess certification from the Health department because this technique can be risky, if performed by untrained personnel. Knowledge of the art is a must! The blades and pens should be used only once and they also need to be sterilised properly before use. Superior quality supplies increase customer satisfaction levels because they make the process very easy and smooth. The artist mixes the pigment for the brows and gets the exact hair color shade desired. This color lasts at for about 18 months and after that retouching of the eyebrows is done again. The appearance becomes as smart as before. A numbing crème is used on the client’s skin to numb the area before the ink is spewed into the skin. This is applied so that the client does not feel acute discomfort because of the blade cuts made on the epidermal layer of the skin. Dr. David Bank, Director of The Center for Dermatology, Cosmetic & Laser Surgery, provided some insightful answers about Botox/Dysport and treatments that are more age appropriate.
What are your thoughts on young girls having treatments such as Botox?
“Botox/Dysport are great treatments to get to reduce excess muscle activity especially in the upper part of your face or if genetically you take after one parent getting these treatments is a proactive approach instead of waiting for the lines to form. There are a people who are 25-30 who come in to do procedures but they are a relatively small amount, that is not to say that we don’t have patients who are in their 20’s but skin in their 20’s are still subtle and elastic. Botox /Dysport and some of these procedures are great anti-aging alternatives however, for most people in their 20’s these in-office procedures may not be necessary. In many cases, if you’re in your 20’s, a good skincare routine and protection from the sun may be all you need. 30’s is a more realistic starting point, unless of course in unique and unusual circumstances.:
What are some preventative treatments/procedures or what kind of skin care regimen would you recommend that are more age-appropriate for people in their 20’s?
“The 20’s is a pretty forgiving decade; the biggest problems people in their 20’s face are acne, blackheads, and discoloration & brown spots due to scars and sun damage. A daily regimen consisting of a gentle cleanser and sun screen in the morning would be sufficient. If you are worried and want to start a more intense regimen, a night cream containing Vitamin E and retinol works. If your skin is acne-prone, I would also add an anti-acne product. But a lot of the times acne are caused by thick products that we put in the hair and that migrates down to our face and hair line and block up pores there so finding right hair products are also important. Of course if the problem is persistent, you should visit your dermatologist to consider such treatments as Microdermabrasion or a glycolic peel – it gives a really nice deep cleansing and really helps with acne. For those in their later twenties and have early on-set lines, Fraxel is another treatment that can be considered.”
What are some of the biggest problems that people in their 20’s? What about spots that never seen to face? Any dermatological treatments for that?
“The problem with people with in their 20’s is uneven pigmentation where there are patches of increase/excess pigmentation, usually the result of acne scars or they can be hormonal caused if you happen to take birth control pills. I always recommend that my patients use a good sunscreen because sun perpetuates pigmentation which is not ideal when you want the spots to fade.
In mild cases, glycolic peels would work but if you’re talking about a persistent spot Fraxel is a good alternative. Patients usually see results after 1 or 2 treatments. (Fraxel is a fractionated laser technology designed for resurfacing wrinkled, sun-damaged, and aging skin.)”
