New Yorkers who appreciate the finest in lingerie and erotica (and don’t blush at the sight of sex toys) should head over to the recently opened Coco de Mer boutique in Nolita. Coco de Mer, (an upscale sex boutique) is more than just erotic toys and lingerie. Generating a lot of buzz are the “exhibitionist-friendly” dressing rooms where “shoppers” can shoot photos of themselves trying on merchandise (with props!) and e-mail them to friends, lovers, heck- anyone with an e-mail address. NSFW!
At last night’s “Drink Like a Libertine” event hosted by the folks at WineChap, guests had the opportunity to “play” while enjoying complimentary champagne provided by Nicolas Feuillatte (which certainly loosened up the crowd). The selection of Rose NV, Blanc de Blancs Vintage and Brut Réserve Particulière were delightful for a champagne lover- such as myself.
Guests also had the opportunity to meet and mingle with award-winning photographer, John Midgley. An exhibition of fine-art photographs from his Rapture collection, “luxuriating in the darker side of sexuality” grace the back walls of the boutique.
After flipping through pages of a vintage Playboy with Sally Field on the cover, the night ended with gifts- an erotic fortune cookie and a very naughty lollipop (NSFC).
