New York & Company hosted a preview event of their Fall 2010 Collection! Though I am excited for spring and the wonderful weather that we’re having right now, this NY&Co showcase is already giving me thoughts on great outfits come fall!
Expanding on their more fashion-forward Red Label Collection, the brand is continually evolving to meet the high-fashion demands of trendy New Yorkers but at much more reasonable prices compared to 5th Ave boutiques. They’ve got skinny-leg/wide-hip pants, slinky dresses with ruching, fantastic outerwear pieces and sweaters, and also are all about the denim shirts that are going to be all the rage, per other retailers like H&M and Gap:
Or, just pick up all of the above and throw it all together! Layering for fall can (usually) never go wrong. The NY&Co designers declare: “The color palette for fall features rich hues, and combines masculine textures like tweed, with feminine beading and hints of faux fur.”
And of course, NY&Co’s spokesman Carson Kressley was there to show his support! Everyone was enjoying cocktails with white prosecco and Absolut vodka. I was suggested by Nicolas Nath, an event overseer from Absolut, to try the white cosmo – it turned out to be a delicious and light citrus drink! An adult lemonade which would match the warm spring weather quite nicely.
I got a chance to chat with some friendly guests and got their insight on fashion! I met Alexa Wilson, Executive Marketing Director of Marie Claire, who certainly dressed the part of a successful woman, in stunning cap-toed boots, and Rolling Stones reporter Jaclyn Rosenberg who shared with me some tips on where to find great designer knock-offs (hint: 5th Ave around 14th Street). I hope that I found new shopping friends??
The evening ended with us chatting with Marielle Gelber, Director of PR for NY&Co, along with the creative director and a few of the designers – the brains behind the entire operation! It was a lovely evening of fashion and fun, and we were left with a lovely piece of bling from NY&Co – a ribbon-tie necklace with charms, medallions, and jewels hanging from layers of chains!
And for one lucky reader, we’re giving away our 25% off VIP coupon to NY&Co so you can check out their great merchandise for yourself! We’ll announce a winner on Monday, March 22nd. Comment below your thoughts for a chance to win!
P.S. The event took place at The Glass Houses on the 21st floor right by the Hudson River on 25th street with the most spectacular view, overlooking Chelsea and all of downtown. Be jealous.
