Jersey City is not that far to travel from our fare city in order to support a great organization and taste over 80 wines locally and internationally developed. Hudson County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) held their 4th annual wine tasting event at Atrium at the Harborside Financial Center in Jersey City, New Jersey.
According to Beverly Savage, CASA’s Executive Director “
There was a premium chocolate tasting courtesy of Cyndi O’Keefe and live jazz by the Alan Quinn Trio. The “Treat Yourself” silent auction included a lunch with Dr. Ruth Westheimer and copies of “Sex for Dummies,” a premium Johnnie Walker Scotch package that included cigars from Jersey City’s Sky Tobacco. There was also a raffle for a 48′ flat panel HD-TV.
Tastings from Michael Skurnik wine producer as well as Vintage Imports, to name a few, gave the night a feeling of community as folks passed from table to table discussing their favorites with representatives as well as other attendees.
CASA’s mission is to advocate on behalf of Hudson County’s 700+ foster children while moving them toward safe and permanent homes. They are also in need of volunteers to be advocates for the foster children. For more information check out their site at www.HudsonCountyCasa.org and donate your time!
