How did you celebrate the first day of summer? If you are a fan of Thrillistthe city-based daily dose of tips, you most likely opted to kick off the season at their first Margarita Summer’s Eve at Revel!

A fun and colorful decor created a relaxed vibe for guests to enjoy not one – but two- open bars of delicious margaritas. A selected menu let attendees chose from classic versions of this festive drink such as a refreshing basil option.

The “create your own margarita” open bar turned out to be a huge success as attendees were excited to select ingredients for a creation of their choice. Cocktails featuring Cazadores, Herradura Tequila and Cointreau, courtesy of the resident mixologists, were mixed with a wide selection of yummy fruits while some attendees opted to enjoy the cold buffet in between Margaritas.

Fresh tunes were spinned by DJ Tanner only interrupted a couple of times by a mariachi band that perfectly completed the evening and played a few songs while Thrillist fans wore the decorative sombreros and played with mini maracas.

Best of all, Thrillist succeed as usual to keep the guestlist restricted enough for the garden not to become crowded and for everybody to mix in a pleasant environment.  Margarita Summer is Thrillist’s perfect way to celebrate the history of this summer staple concoction in over 50 bars and restaurants and to honor its creator, Dallas socialite Margarita Sames.
