Last week, the creative team behind Spa Week put on a sneak preview event to get your engines revved up for the ultimate in affordable indulgence.  Coming to a spa near you April 11-17th, this highly anticipated event brings the concept of full service treatments (normally ranging between $100-$200) to the masses at an incredibly discounted price point of $50.

The concept began in Fall 2004 with industry insider and founder of Spa Week, Cheryl Reid.  Wishing to promote a healthy lifestyle to all New Yorkers and not just the rich or famous, Reid spent months researching and organizing the first Spa Week before launching in Manhattan with a mere 25 spas participating.  She never dreamed that it would take off so quickly or be embraced so strongly by the consumers and spa owners.  The very next day her phone was ringing off the hook and inbox flooded with requests to be included in the next event.

Spa Week is thrilled to announce its 2011 Presenting and Title Sponsor: CAREFREE®; Exclusive Destination Sponsor: Vdara Hotel & Spa, CityCenter Las Vegas; Exclusive Cosmetic Sponsor: YOUNGBLOOD® Mineral Cosmetics; Exclusive Food Sponsor: Dole; Exclusive National Media Sponsor: Allure Magazine; and Exclusive Spa Association Partner: ISPA. With such instantaneous success, it is no wonder that Spa Week has spread to 29 cities in the United States with over 700 participating venues.

For their Spa Week 2011 sneak peek night of pampering, dubbed “LoveLife 2011”, guests were indulged with complimentary neck and shoulder massages, Alley-O brand organic sweet treats like cookies and cupcakes, wines from Hob Nob and a presentation from dating and relationship expert Andrea Syrtash, author of He’s Just Not Your Type.

Owner of Shibumi Spa in Tribeca, Soli Davis, played host to the evening, and they sent everyone home with generous goodie bags filled with luxuries such as gift certificates for future spa  treatments, Bionova N1 Skincare Custom Treatment Cream, and full size bottles of Sexual Sugar perfume by Michel Germain (now selling at Macy’s).  In total, the gift bags were worth over $700!

With just a few weeks left until Spa Week 2011 begins, get your game plan together by going to or downloading the handy iPhone/Droid apps to find participating spas nearest you.
