The 2011 Affordable Art Fair, May 5-8 at 7 West 34th Street, brings together an international collection of art dealers and artists showcasing a wide range of contemporary art. Quality works of photography, sculpture, mixed media and painting were well represented. In addition to a great selection of new work, the fair provides all the services you need to take your inspired new purchase to its final home. Shipping agents, framers, credit card processors, packers and concierge services are at your disposal.
Some of the galleries represented that caught my eye include: Villa del Arte from Barcelona featuring elongated photography of white environments juxtaposed with surf scenes in a minimal balance (see photos below); TAG Fine Arts from the UK; The French Art Studio; the Bad Jupiter Project from the UK and the Living With Art gallery, from NYC, featuring the work of seminal photographer Albert Delamour.
If you are unable to make it to the fair but were hoping to pick up one of these artistic treasures you still have a chance. Venerable art and design consultant Anisa Romero has cataloged notable works and will be available to provide a private consultation to you.
