Last Friday, the swanky new TriBeCa venue, Theater Bar, was in an especially exclusive flutter for an exciting event hosted by DrinkTheDeal.   The party was to celebrate not only the creation of the very fun new website, but to rock out its inaugural drinking deal.

To pave the way for what is sure to be a river of blissful boozy bargains, for a mere $25, New Yorkers were offered a chance to outfit their Friday night with the supremely chic digs of Theater Bar– and take advantage of the cocktail oasis (opened by mixology guru Albert Trummer of Apotheke fame) by drinking in a luscious 3-hour unlimited cocktail open bar.  DrinkTheDeal is certainly already living up to its name!

The main draw of Theater Bar is its sultry Moulin Rouge–esque style complete with large-scale artworks, a red velvet curtain and a raised bar-cum-stage where guests will dodge can-can dancing legs while ordering drinks like the “vixen’s vice” (oh la la!).

Our evening featured a live performance by Thomas Jefferson and His Ragtime Orchestra who danced and sang their ridiculous take on the life of the third President with 1920s-style arrangements of current pop hits.

Brought to life by visionary bar crawling guru, Kevin Green, and some of his extremely supportive friends, DrinkTheDeal is a Groupon-esque site/daily offer with a very specific slant (and depending on how often you take advantage of these incredible deals, the slant might turn into more of a sway).  Launching in New York, with ambitions to go nationwide soon, those who sign up will be offered exclusive deals in some of the coolest and newly opened drinking dens throughout the city.

It’s like an exclusive and surprise happy hour delivered to you inbox to put some swing into your weekend.  No more time spent pouring over listings, trying to seek out the fun–now you can sit back and let them come to you!
