Monday evening proved to be a turning point in my obsession with spray tanning.  As the self-crowned “Queen of Mystic Tan,” I have never been professionally airbrushed as I assumed that it would not be worth the extra bucks.  Boy, was I wrong!  Urban Girl Squad takes great pride in planning fun events for young and fabulous New York gals, and this event was no different.

Immediately upon arriving, our Trump SoHo Spa hosts passed out glasses of champagne and made us feel welcome.  Nearly 20 ladies participated, and everyone was super friendly and outgoing (read: no bitchy NY girls with attitude).  There were plenty of tasty nibbles to keep us satiated while we waited for our custom airbrush tan, and a makeup artist was on-hand to freshen us up afterwards.  Plenty of pampering, beautiful weather on the spa pool deck and champagne flowed freely all evening = the perfect night!

When it was my turn for the airbrush tan, I was led to a quiet treatment room and instructed to strip down and put on the disposable undergarment.  The room next door had a pop-up tent where I stepped in for my 20-minute custom tan.  The two ladies who did the tan were completely professional.  They were almost scientific about getting every square inch sprayed perfectly and making sure I did not have uneven spots!  The best part is that the tan is sprayed on and airbrush dried IMMEDIATELY, so no streaks and no damp feeling.  And no icky tan smell that I get from my normal spray booth (aka – “the car wash tan”, as the tanning specialists called it!).  The color came out amazing and I am still loving my summer glow, days later.

I am 100% sold on the airbrush tan, and getting a $50 certificate toward a future treatment at the Trump SoHo Spa was a nice little bonus in the gift bag.  Well done, Urban Girl Squad!  This event was worth every penny of their $50 registration cost – and them some!  I highly encourage you to check out their website and attend the next fun night out – Scotch and Cigars on July 20th!  Only 9 spots left so hurry and sign up!
