The Bortolomiol Family invited prosecco connoisseurs to celebrate the release of Dreaming of Prosecco, by Ettore Gobbato, the biographical account of Giuliano Bortolomiol’s life and his journey to create one of the world’s most prestigious prosecco brands. The occasion took place at the stunning Setai Fifth Avenue and featured three of the family’s prosecco varieties: Brut, Banda Rossa Extra Dry, and Superiore di Cartizze Dry.

The sparkling wine was perfectly complimented with a spread of Italian cheeses, fresh breads and crackers, and blueberry and walnut chutney that the staff was able to expertly recommend to guests. Waiters also passed around small bites like Maine lobster and mango on crostini, Italian prosciutto and cantaloupe skewers and shrimp and artichoke balls.

As if the evening was not special enough, Elena Bortolomiol, one-fifth of the female family team currently behind the brand, Ettore Gobbato and Gian Arturo Rota of Veronelli Editore, the publisher, were on hand to introduce the book and say a few words about Giuliano and the flourishing business he continued to grow after its’ inception in 1760. Everyone received one of the books and even had the opportunity to have the honor of Ettore and Elena sign the books. It was a truly inspiring evening with stories of family, love and determination that resonated even as guests departed. Dreaming of Prosecco will be released this fall.
