We made an announcement in early August about a fantastic event: the Sumeria Group‘s Liberty Ball is on this Saturday, September 10th, and if you haven’t gotten tickets already then it’s TOO BAD because they’ve sold out! Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
The event seeks to raise awareness for the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, an initiative that encourages people to pay tribute on 9/11 by doing good deeds and charitable services, and we’re gonna mix and mingle with like-minded folks with a fantastic DJ, some dancing and an open bar.
While it may be too late to get tickets to this event, it’s still not too late to sign up to volunteer this Sunday, September 11th for a day of remembrance.
The Sumeria Group’s Sold-Out Liberty Ball Gathers Heavy Anticipation
Over 700 Young Professionals Expected; Event to Support 9/11 Day of Service
Tickets have been sold out for weeks for this weekend’s big event at Gotham Hall in the heart of New York City. The Liberty Ball, hosted by the Sumeria Group, is designed to raise awareness for the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, a national initiative that encourages people to pay tribute on 9/11 by engaging in charitable service or by doing good deeds.
In light of this movement, the Sumeria Group has organized a service project on Sunday to assemble care packages for children of wounded military service members. Along with this service project, which is expected to draw several hundreds, the Sumeria Group will also be making a substantial donation to MyGoodDeed with proceeds from The Liberty Ball. The Sumeria Group’s mission is connecting young professionals with non-profit organizations. This past spring, The Sumeria Group hosted a sell-out event on behalf of Harlem RBI, putting them on the radar screen of hundreds and introducing new relationships to their organization. Sumeria was founded in 2010 by Alex Widen and Nick Moseley in New York City and has since expanded with members in Boston, Washington DC, and San Francisco.
