Needing a much needed break from the hecticness that is New York Fashion Week, we headed to the Fashion Indie Beauty Break Room on Monday, September 12th, for a brief dose of pampering.

In conjunction with Spa Week, Fashion Indie set up their loft space with treats and goodies, including Popchips, Vitacare gum, Pretzel Crisps (more on these guys in the near future), Vita Coco, chocolates (Twix, my favorite!) and even a mini open bar with champagne and Svedka Vodka.

Spa Martier was on-site to pitch their spa in Midtown East.  Not only is it a spa – with complete services ranging from mani/pedis, massages, facials, waxing and scrubs – but they also have a full-service restaurant and a boutique shop if you have a spontaneous desire for a wardrobe change!  Manicurists were there giving nails all sorts of primping.

Some indie designers were showcasing their fashion and style, including some fabulous hats and fascinators!

In our gift bag was a handy little coin purse wallet by Camille Zarsky and some makeup: BECCA Jewel Dust eye sparkling powder; Elizabeth Grant lip gloss (loving this Sweet Pink); and my new obsession, this awesomely sparkly nail polish from Milani Cosmetics.

Less expensive than the O.P.I./Essie bottles but a step up from Wet N Wild/crappy private label drugstore brands, their polishes start at $3.50 and are around $5 for the funner novelty ones like this Jewel FX line.  I have it on right now as a thick top coat and it IS. SO. SPARKLY.  The next step will be to see how it does over a color polish for extra pizazz!

Yours,
Von
