In case you missed the glorious weather and the wonderful parade of fashion at the Liberty State Park in New Jersey, we have a slew of photos to share with you from the 2012 Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic that took place Saturday, June 2nd, 2012.  The invigorating match was a lovely setting to one of the most glorious daytime socializing events to kick off the summer!

The spectacle was co-hostsed by Clive Owen, international superstar polo player Nacho Figueras, Delfina Blaquier, and Veuve Clicquot U.S. President Vanessa Kay as they welcomed 6,000+ guests on the 15 acres lawn with a stunning backdrop of the Manhattan skyline.

Zoe Saldana, Minka Kelly, Rachel Zoe & Rodger Berman, Padma Lakshmi, Leslie Bibb, Jennifer Morrison were just a few of the stunning highlights that graced the VIP section, along with Jennifer Morrison, Matthew Rhys, Hilary Rhoda, Jason Wu, Wes Gordon, Jessica Stam, Catherine Malandrino, Poppy Delevigne, Dree Hemingway, Charlotte Ronson, Genevieve Jones, Mia Moretti, Caitlin Moe, Coco Rocha, Alek Wek, Lauren Bosworth, Jason Pomeranc, Amy Sacco, Olivia Palermo, Amanda Righetti, Tiffani Amber Thiessen, Colin Egglesfield, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jessica Perez, Derek Blasberg, Arden Wohl, Gaby Basora, and the Veuve Clicquot  and Moet Hennessy executive teams including Jean Marc Lacave, Laurent Boidevezi, Jim Clerkin, Sabina Belli, Stephane Gerschel, Christine Kaculis and Bernadette Knight.

Fun fact: over 7,000 bottles of Veuve Clicquot Champagne were consumed!  Which is actually much less than I would have guessed.

After four fast-paced chukkers (chukkers = quarters), team Black Watch beat team Nespresso nine to seven.  Congrats to Black Watch and MVP Nacho!

Other highlights of the event included Rachel Zoe throwing out the ceremonial ball to start the game, a performance by New Orleans-style jazz vocalist Ingrid Lucia, the national anthem sung by Broadway star and Sex in the City alum Sean Palmer, and of course the traditional divot stomp.

The 2012 Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic is proud to benefit Work To Ride, a non-profit equestrian program providing disadvantaged urban youth with activities centered around horsemanship, equine sports and education. As the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic strives to promote the sport of polo, Work To Ride utilizes the special connection between youth and horses to teach strength, support and teamwork. Contact with animals, nature and the sport of polo instills discipline, responsibility and life skills to the program’s adolescents while also developing confidence and self-esteem. One of Work To Ride’s star players, Kareem Rosser, scored a clutch goal for Black Watch.

A great time in the sun was enjoyed by all, and a great way to kick off the summer!

Yours,
Von
