Socially Superlative was invited by the American Cancer Society to attend the cocktail hour of their Fourth Annual Pink and Black Tie Gala at Steiner Studios. What was seemingly in the middle of nowhere Brooklyn, arose a movie lot, home to filming of movies Sex and the City, Inside Man, Enchanted and The Adjustment Bureau as well as television series like In Treatment, Bored to Death and most recently, HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.
Guests were greeted at the entrance of the space with baybreezes, which painted the scene with even more pink accents than the dresses, ties, pink carpet and sunset. The step and repeat was also set up at the cocktail hour, so partygoers could get an up close glimpse of the host of the evening and gala chair, What Not to Wear‘s Stacy London.
The highlight of the cocktail hour was definitely the outdoor terrace, which gave a fabulous view of the setting sun, overlooking the water and East River bridges. Choices of appetizers like sushi rolls, short rib, fried eggplant and stations of fresh pasta were also offered to attendees as they perused the silent auctions up for bid.
The cocktail hour was definitely a great start to the night, for a great cause, and we’re sure the rest of the night was just as spectacular.
