Ryan Seacrest and Alan Mullaly, the President & CEO of Ford Motor Company, took center stage last week in Times Square with the launch of the all-new 2013 Ford Fusion. The transmedia tour is dubbed “Random Acts of Fusion” featuring a story arc titled “47 Challenges, 47 Days” which tells the tales of Fusion owners who were inspired by the vehicle. During the press conference they had the new model on display, handed out shirts emblazoned with the “Fusion47” logo, and even gave away a new 2013 Ford Fusion to one lucky winner!
The all-new Ford Fusion achieved a 47 mpg fuel economy rating which makes it America’s most fuel-efficient midsize sedan. The innovative vehicle is also available in a Hybrid model that hits top speed around 60 mph, and we had a chance to zip around Manhattan and put it to the test. What a fun car to drive!
A huge change from the previous compact models that were considered a “party on wheels”, the new version is larger but yet sexy and sleek. It actually looks more like a luxury car than the rest of its competition. Some of the extra features like the backup park assistance camera and being able to synch my phone with the sound system were a pleasant surprise. How did they fit in so many perks into a car that has an entry level price point?
