Guy Fieri hosted a rousing welcome party for friends and family of his newly launched American Kitchen & Bar last week, and it is clear that Times Square won’t ever be the same. Featuring a wide-ranging menu full of the big, bold flavors Fieri is known for, as well as three bars, a wine list full of California favorites, and an extensive draft beer selection, this place is “off the hook” (one of Fieri’s favorite lines)!
Located on 44th Street right in the heart of Times Square, this mega-restaurant (formerly a warehouse space) sprawls across four floors and offers an unbelievable amount of square footage for eating, drinking and being merry. Everything on the menu is made from scratch and there is no shortage of flavorful options. We sampled many of Guy’s appetizers and small bite creations at the party and were blown away with the range of offerings. From tuna tartar tacos to pulled pork sliders and Malibu oysters (a take on Rockefeller style), we were in heaven with every bite.
Along with a parade of passed hors d’oeuvres (there was enough food to feed an army), the bars were serving up hand crafted signature beers made just for American Kitchen & Bar here in New York. Everything from pale ales to lagers are on the menu and you can even grab a seasonal brew called Funkin’ Pumpkin Ale. Pair it with some Sweet & Sticky Firecracker wings or Guy’s Big Bite Burger and you have yourself a perfect Sunday Funday meal during football season.
The best part of the night was catching a performance from the cast of Rock of Ages (neighbors to the restaurant) who stopped by the Flavortown joint to sing a few songs from their show and entertain the crowd. We all know Guy Fieri is a rock n’ roll kind of guy, so it was especially fun to watch him stand front row and enjoy the performance.
Posing for pics with all of his fans and making his way around the entire restaurant, it is clear that Guy Fieri is passionate about the hospitality he is serving up to NYC. Check out American Kitchen & Bar for lunch or dinner daily, with late night hours on the weekends. We can’t wait to go back and try more!
As Guy Fieri would say: Love, Peace & Taco Grease!
