As if this summer’s Montauk SUPERBURGER cookoff was not enough of a meaty reminder for New Yorkers, the brainchild behind Fatty Cue decided to give everyone a closer look at why Chef Zac Pelaccio is everyone’s favorite burger baron.  Hosted by Amstel Light at the newly minted venue 404 (on the midtown western front), we showed up to see what all the fuss was about.

Already big fans of Chef Pelaccio’s tasty creations from our experiences at Fatty Crab, Fatty Cue and Superburger, we couldn’t wait to sample Zac’s featured flavors like the juicy lamb burger, the beef burger highlighting a jalapeno kick, and even the ground pork burger, which was surprisingly lean and flavorful.  Thank goodness everything was cut up into slider-size bites that were easy to pop in your mouth while balancing a cold bottle of Amstel Light to wash it down.  What could be better?

How about adding in a ping pong table and interactive photo booth, complete with whimsical message card props to keep us entertained?  Yes, we took advantage of the silly photos along with everyone else at the party.  And the mood in the room continuously amped up as guests polished off more Amstel Light and swayed to the beats of the music master, DJ Phresh.

What’s great about the raw event space at 404 is the ability to infuse the spot with any branding or promotional theme you wish.  Last Thursday, it came to life with a combination of Amstel Light throw pillows, over-sized wall hangings, and even the lovely Amstel Light ladies in their signature red wedge heels and mini-dresses.

What a fun way to kick off New York Food & Wine Festival!  We hope Chef Pelaccio never stops cranking out his amazing culinary inventions… and we will continue to follow him anywhere!

Cheers,
