Last week, a totally fun, entertaining and educational event took place in Tribeca at the Maserati of Manhattan dealership. No, it wasn’t specifically about cars, other than giving us the opportunity to admire some of the Italian masterpieces but rather it was about chocolate, fine foods and delicious cocktails.
World-renowned Pastry Chef, Donald Wressell, was in the house and conducted an incredible demo illustrating his unparalleled chocolate skills – it is definitely an ART! Best of all, those of us in attendance got to TASTE the exact dessert that won him a Gold Medal, representing the USA, at the World Cup of Pastry (Le Coupe du Monde de la Patisserie). Yum!
Throughout the fun evening cocktails were a flowing with two specially-made for the event … a combination of Black Lab Vodka, a variety of chocolate sauces from the Guittard Chocolate Company and a touch of flavor brought to you by Nielsen-Massey Vanillas, as well as a separate back bar serving a variety of wines and champagnes.
Complementing the drinks were a multitude of sweet & savory bites from Guittard Chocolate Company, a variety of chocolate pieces as well as passed bon-bons which were to die for. Connoisseur Specialty Foods served freshly thinly-sliced hams, perfectly cut by Thomas “Tommy” Cuni of Principe Foods, cooked-just-right scallops, well-prepared tortellinis and many more from their extensive catalog of foods.
All in all, it was a night of top-shelf’ness (is that a word? it is now! ). The artisan desserts created by Chef Wressell, the quality food, both sweet and non, and the beautiful cars complementing our viewing pleasure.
I tip my hat to everyone involved, even the suppliers of the amazingly designed and GLOWING furniture Party Up Productions.
