On Sunday, February 10th , Catherine Malandrino introduced her Fall 2013 line at the Center 548 loft space near Chelsea Piers. Catherine Malandrino’s French Art Deco-inspired pieces showcased muted jewel tones in burgundy, French blue, plum, olive, and classic ivory and black, while utilizing a plethora of fabrications.
The line varied from structured jackets and pleated skirts to fitted floor length dresses and pieces with geometric cut-outs. Malandrino did not shy away from multiple silhouettes, offering up shift dresses, blouses with interesting sleeve detailing, and cape jackets among others for the season.
Malandrino’s exploration of leather, velvet, wool, silk and more, gave the collection an all-encompassing feel. Accents of stylish shoes, bags and gloves did not go unnoticed and added to the sophistication of the line. Pieces like the two-toned drop neck floor length gown and black fitted bustier with fitted pant stole the show.
Malandrino Fall 2013 collection stayed true to the timelessness of her usual shows and the ease of taking her pieces straight from the runway to everyday fashionable wear.
