Held on the 36th floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel overlooking Columbus Circle, the annual Orchid Dinner and Early Décor showcase brought socialites and nature lovers together for one fantastic evening adored with supreme displays of orchids.
The evening featured the sale of rare and exotic orchids selected by the Garden’s curators, many sold out during the first 30 minutes of the reception. In the dining hall, each table was adorned by a dramatic centerpiece and table setting created and donated by over 25 of New York’s top designers.
This year’s theme was “Exotic Inspirations” where each table had a magnificent centerpiece made by one of 25 of New York’s top designers. The evening was sponsored by BNY Mellon, Tiffany & Co., Hearst Corporation and VERANDA.
The evening is expected to raise approximately $600,000 to benefit the Garden’s world renowned and highly celebrated orchid collection and research program. For the 11th year of the Orchid Show, it will be running at the NYBG from March 2 through April 22, 2013.
