In April, JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts celebrated the opening of the JW Marriott Essex House New York on Central Park South with over 300 guests induging in cocktails, passed hor d’oeuvres, and a special surprise performance by music legend Bon Jovi.
To celebrate the grand occasion, Marriott International’s President & CEO Arne Sorenson was there to unveil the landmark hotel and greet new guests into the elegant rooms and hallways, along with David Marriott, COO of the Eastern Region, Marriott International; Mitzi Gaskins, Vice President & Global Brand Manager, JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts; and Steve Batta, General Manager, JW Marriott Essex House New York.
Other VIP guests included singer and actor Joe Jonas, Brian Baumgartner from “The Office,” Major League Soccer star Tim Cahill of the New York Red Bulls, and former NBA shooting guard John Starks.
The event celebrated the hotel’s $90 million renovation in 2007, and what better way to unveil one of the most recognizable buildings in NYC than one of the most recognizable sounds in music: Bon Jovi. He performed a set of three songs, leaving the crowd excited for his upcoming tour.
