Last week, influential young professionals gathered at LAVO in support of Silver Hill Hospital for their first annual Young Professionals Fundraising Benefit.

Dr. Sigurd Ackerman, President and Medical Director, of Silver Hill Hospital welcomed the over 130 guests in attendance, and steering committee member, Jaime Gleicher, gave a moving speech about her own personal experience at SHH. Now she is campaigning to help raise awareness for the hospital, and bring together young professionals to be involved in the cause. The evening raised $21,000 for the SHH Scholarship Fund.

The night was fantastic affair with a generous open bar and heaps of delicious plated appetizers and passed hor d’oeuvres. To top it all off, everyone’s favorite DJ Cassidy spun tunes to get everyone out on the dance floor to get the party started. In addition, actress Cassandra Seidenfeld and designer Dennis Basso made an appearance, along with Cassidy’s father, Johnny Podell.

Silver Hill Hospital (SHH) is a not-for-profit psychiatric hospital located in New Canaan, CT. Founded in 1931, has long been world-renowned for the treatment of mental illness and addiction. The Silver Hill Hospital Scholarship Fund is an essential resource to be able to draw upon when motivated patients in need ask and qualify for financial assistance.  The ongoing demand for scholarship support makes fundraising for this purpose a top philanthropic priority, in order to help as many deserving patients as possible access treatment.

This event provided young philanthropists with the opportunity to support Silver Hill Hospital for a very special purpose: providing resources for scholarship assistance for treatment in one of the hospital’s residential treatment programs.
