Socially Superlative got an invite to check out the iAdventure.com Bacon Bash II at Bowlmor Lanes in Times Square. The company had transformed what is usually a bowling alley into a bacon haven, complete with a guy in a full bacon costume and ladies walking around in lightweight bacon-colored dresses. Like that age old saying, it looked like pigs were flying at this event, and there was even bacon covered in 23 karat edible gold!
Guests were greeted at the elevators with beer, but attendees could also opt for a cocktail with bacon in it, like the Wild Boar, with bacon vodka, peach and diet coke or a chocolate vodka shot called the Pig Pen.
Top restaurants in the city came out to showcase their well known bacon dishes. Among those stations was House of ‘Que, offering up their 3-Way Bacon Chili with smoked pork shoulder, bacon and pork belly, a trio made for any bacon aficionado.
Tr3s Carnes, a new Tex Mex restaurant, represented with their House-Cured Smoked Pork Belly Tacos with peppered bacon ranch. You could see them carving up the meat on site, so you knew it was fresh.
No stranger to Times Square, Guy Fieri’s American Kitchen and Bar served up their Bacon and Chicken Mac N Cheese, which seemed to be a hit amongst partygoers.
Representing on the burger front, Bare Burger, known for its organic and sustainable ingredients, served up their Big Blue Bacon burger in slider form, which included an addition of bacon marmalade.
What bacon event would be complete without a Baconery station, serving up their well known bacon bakery treats and chocolate-covered bacon.
As you can expect with any event with bacon, (unless you’re a vegan or vegetarian, who doesn’t love bacon?!), this event gets crowded fast. If you intend on going to this shindig in the future, make sure to show up early to get your bacon fix.
