The space is not a traditional sports bar in any sense, except for the plethora (40+!) of TV screens around the space. The venue combines wood interior with plush banquettes and high-top tables, creating an environment completely unique to the Royal. The location is spacious and has room for a DJ to spin in the back.

Another way that the Royal differs from the usual sports bar is that the food is actually good! We were able to sample some of the items on the revamped menu like their chicken wings, chicken tenders, classic meatballs, hand twisted pretzel and fried mozzarella balls with marinara sauce, served on individual spoons. Their most popular dish is their homemade slow cooked chili (though unfortunately, we didn’t get to sample).

Now on to more important items, happy hour! On Monday through Friday from 4-8pm, drafts are only $5, wine is $6 and well drinks are $6. On Tuesdays, bottles of wine are half off. They also have trivia on Wednesdays from 8-10, and if you come through on a Monday, Thursday or Sunday, you can be assured that your football game will be playing. Chances are you’ll probably find us there one of these nights, since we’ll definitely be back.
