The 2014 Winter Food Fete kicked off late February at Helen Mills Event Space in Chelsea, with new products from healthy food brands.

Rudi’s Gluten-Free Bakery had the best sandwiches of the night. Organic White English Muffins with Fresh Mozzarella, Pesto, and Grilled Egglant, and Double Fiber Bread with Goat Cheese and Apples were deserving of double servings! Applegate has a new product launching in August, just in time for back to school, but it was too top secret to mention here. We promise it’s worth the wait and will include all the great flavors of Applegate! Roth were showcasing different cheeses than the usual American and Mozzarella, to get consumers used to other mild types of cheese. We were a fan of their Mediterranean option. Horizon showcased their new organic Mac n cheese with a Mac n cheese bar, complete with fixins.

Quaker’s Warm & Crunchy Granola fit in perfectly to the theme of healthy eating with their new product, a meal that is heated like oatmeal, but stays crunchy like granola. Modern Oats went the traditional route for preparation, but tried different flavor profiles, like Chocolate Cherry and Mango Blackberry.

There were less healthy food options too, but we didn’t seem to mind! Farm Rich served their fried pickles and mozzarella sticks. Duncan Hines, introduced their new combos. Pink and Blue Velvet cake mixes, which are perfect for literally any occasion or party you can think of, also have new recipe types, like cake balls, getting out of the conventional cupcake and cake options. They also had salted caramel brownies, which were as good as they sound, if not better! FarmRich had toasted ravioli, breaded mozzarella sticks and fried pickles!  More perfect snacking or appetizer options for any occasion.

Seattle’s Best Coffee showed off their new coffee combinations for Keurig with new packaging and caffeine system. They also had a cocktail that combined coffee, vanilla vodka, maybe syrup and red velvet sugar, with their Seattle’s Best Coffee Maple-tini. Sassy vodka company, Ivanabitch, offered up the other option of libations. There were three signature drinks, the Smoke After Sex, Pineapple Upside Down Cocktail, and Peach Pie, but they also had 13 flavored vodkas, so you could always make your own concoction.

Food Fete is always a great way to find out what new items food brands have coming out next. We look forward to their next seasonal event.
