NYC Craft Beer Festival: Spring Seasonals

LEXINGTON ARMORY, Feb. 28th & March 1st, 2014

The Hand Crafted Tasting Company is proud to announce the return of its NYC Craft Beer Festival – Spring Seasonals tasting to the Lexington Avenue Armory (68 Lexington Ave.) in Manhattan on Friday, Feb. 28th and Saturday, March 1st. The perfect close to NYC Beer Week 2014.

The Spring Seasonals tasting will showcase spring releases from 75 of America’s best craft breweries, with approximately 150 selections, along with wonderfully prepared food from NYC craft beer restaurants Waterfront Ale House, Taproom No. 307, Route 66, Morris Grilled Cheese and Rosamunde Sausage Grill, that have been picked specifically to accompany the spring seasonal craft beer selections.

A small sampling of the 150 craft beers on the main tasting floor include Wandering Star Catcher in the Rye, Victory Swing Saison, New Holland White Hatter, Elysian Jasmine, Green Flash Brewing Co’s Double Stout, and the Mardi Gras seasonal, a Bière de Mars, and French farmhouse ale from Louisiana’s Bayou Teche.

“For the spring show we are looking to put together a diverse list of brews that show off the range of craft beer, especially from breweries in the region around New York City. In particular we are looking for fresh beers that have bright flavors,” said Giancarlo Annese, festival curator and seminar leader.

The NYC Craft Beer Festival will offer three sessions. There will be one session on Friday, February 28th, from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM and two sessions on Saturday, March 1st, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The first hour of all three sessions will be exclusive to VIP and Connoisseur ticket holders.

Tickets are on-sale now at NYCCraftBeerFest.com/tix.

Higher Barrel-Spring-Seasonal

“The NYC Craft Beer Festival is a true celebration of the American craft beer experience. We invite the country’s best craft brewers to come together at one time, in one place, so attendees can sample a careful selection of the best spring seasonal brews the brewers have to offer,” said Ken Tesler, Founder, Hand Crafted Tasting Co.

During the event, leading craft beer experts will host intimate, 50 people, first-come, first-served, seminars, and many brewer representatives will be available at the taps to educate the guests about their liquid offerings.

Giancarlo and Sarah Annese, founders of NYC craft beer news site BeerUnion.com and authors of new book “Beer Lovers New York,” will hold a seminar and beer tasting exploring New York State beer. “What New York beer tastes like” will involve a discussion about beer trends, and a chance to taste a brew from each region of the state covered in their book. A spirited discussion will focus on where New York resides in the craft beer renaissance taking place within our 50 states.

Joe Callender, aka “The Craft Beer Coach,” will lead a beer style comparison seminar and tasting with the primary goal to educate the attendee about the ingredients, malt, hops, and yeast, and how personal taste preferences impact the equation.

Finally, just 150 Connoisseur tickets are available for purchase per session. The Connoisseur package offers a speedy entrance line to the Armory and access to the exclusive Connoisseurs Lounge for the entire session where there will be an additional 12-15 rare beers not found on the Grand Tasting floor.

“We are offering a private lounge environment for beer Connoisseurs to listen to live, acoustic, Blues & Folk influenced music all the while sampling some of the rarest and most exciting beers you’ll ever get a chance to drink, and finger foods will be presented at no additional cost,” said Tesler.
