Like last time, we were invited to experience ALL of what the Festival had to offer so we could go the one hour before, during general admission and into the connoisseurs lounge.
The Connoisseurs Lounge features free-flowing taps of special brews, including Founders‘ Vintage Kentucky Breakfast Stout, Goose Island‘s Bourbon County Coffee, Southern Tier‘s Unearthly IPA, Allagash‘s Four, and Braufactum‘s Roog.
The beers were as usual great and a lot of the places introduced their take on this spring/summer beer which was IPA’s and the new rage of sour beers. If you like lemon juice, you would love a sour beer.
The big surprise this year was Bell’s. They just presented their beers to the east coast. I am wondering if it was a coincident that the beer from Derek Jeter’s home town presented itself to the east coast at the same time as Jeter announced his last year with the Yankees. Either way Bell’s IPA “Two Hearted Ale” was the beer of the day. It was made to perfection and a true hoppy IPA.
