On Thursday, April 3rd, 2014 over 500 philanthropists came together for the American Cancer Society Key Gala at TD Garden in Boston. The theme for the evening was “Hope is in the Garden” for the event benefitting the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge Center in Boston.
Guests got a unique treat in exploring the Celtic’s home court and dining and dancing right on the floor of the Garden to benefit crucial cancer support services. Following a nice cocktail hour guests were invited to bid on silent auction items and Alex and Ani ] surprise bags and signature bracelets.
Mistress of ceremonies, three-time cancer survivor and Emmy Award-winning arts and entertainment critic for CBS-Boston, Joyce Kulhawik, led the program for the evening which saw Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of Charles River Laboratories James C. Foster honored as the 2014 Key Gala Honoree for his company’s work on critical clinical research.
The evening was a fundraising success with over $1,100,000 raised through the event, silent, and live auctions and everyone had a great time dancing the night away to the tunes of band Beantown. This event is definitely one to put on your radar for next year.
Happy Hoping,
Jenicka
