Last Tuesday, Food Fête‘s annual Health & Wellness media event brought together intimate collection of cutting edge food and beverage products that represent the modern landscape of healthy eating. Held at the elegant Helen Mills Event Space on 26th Street, we were thoroughly impressed with the wide range of offerings on display and offered to sample.
With so many people choosing to avoid wheat gluten, soy and other notorious inflammatory foods, or discovering allergies or intolerance, there has never been a more relevant time for spotlighting companies that take an alternative approach to our favorite snack foods.
Our minds, and tastebuds, were blown away by the sheer spectrum of products available through the Enjoy Life brand, who are committed to bringing easy and delicious staples to those who have such dietary restrictions. Eliminating the most notorious foods/additives (afore mentioned wheat and soy, as well as nuts and preservatives) Enjoy Life products provide enormously tasty, satisfying treats that take the idea of “deprivation” right out of the equation.
We also fell head over heels for SoDelicious‘s melt in your mouth, coconut-based creamy treats. From revolutionary, soon to hit the market “Cool-Whip” style coconut whipped topping (without the major chemical and hydrogenated oil monstrosity), to decadent ice creams, to delicious lattes and chocolate milks–all of their products give us access to the incredible health benefits of coconut, while indulging our sweet tooths into total bliss.
We also got to sample some fabulous Dr. Praeger’s veggie burgers, Barbara’s organic cereals, Manitoba Harvest hemp hearts, chia seeds in a myriad of preparations by Mamma Chia, and wholesome mixes for baked goods and breads by Krusteaz.
Staying healthy has never seemed so easy or delicious! Here’s to health for all of us!
