Boston Pride Week

This week Boston celebrates Boston Pride. Boston Pride produces events and activities to achieve LGBT inclusivity, equality, respect, and awareness in Greater Boston and beyond. Fostering diversity, unity, visibility and dignity, we educate, communicate and advocate by building and strengthening community connections.

Ten days of LGBT friendly events and festivities will lead up to the annual Boston Pride Parade and Festival on June 14th. Boston Pride week officially kicks off on Friday June 6th with the 20th annual flag raising ceremony at City Hall Plaza, with daily events taking place throughout the Boston area for the following week. This year’s Pride Week theme is “Be Yourself, Change the World,”and encourages the LGBT community to embrace what makes each individual unique and to use those qualities to change the world for the better.

Some highlights of the week’s events sponsored by Philips are Friday’s kickoff Flag Raising, Saturday, June 7th Pride Day at Faneuil Hall, Thursday June 12th Pride Night at Fenway Park Red Sox game, Saturday June 14th the Boston Pride Parade, and later that evening Chris Harris Presents Epic Saturdays for Boston Pride at Night’s Main Event with DJ Abel at House of Blues. Tickets for the House of Blue event are very reasonably priced for what is sure to be a fun filled evening!

If after Saturdays parade and dancing all night at the House of Blues hasn’t tired you out too much we suggest you also check out Sunday’s Back Bay Block Party to round out the week of festivities.
