White Party (30) (1024x385)

The very first, highly anticipated all-white PopUp Dinner was the first major PopUp event to ever hit Prospect Park. We are still dazzled by the magical, unreal beauty and fun of the truly unique occasion. Over 4,000 New Yorkers came out, decked in their snowy whites, styled from elaborate eccentric, to graceful whimsy, to New York chic.

The extensive queue to enter the event’s area that quickly gathered all the way outside the park to the Prospect Park Southwest Street entrance of white wearing party goers was already a sight to behold, and evidence of the success of the event. The eager participants carried baskets and bags, arms laden with both delectable dinners and unique and sophisticated baubles and linens to decorate their tables with.

Walking amid the elaborate table settings and food displays was a mesmerizing feast for the eyes, while the yummy dinner provided to us by Williamsburg’s La Gringa Tacqueria, and delightful treats from Blue Sky Bakery, was a feast for our bellies.

And successful the dinner was, indeed! Prospect Park raised over $40,000 from the night’s proceeds!

The evening’s attendees included Luca Manfè, winner of FOX’s prime-time summer hit Masterchef 4, MTV’s Girl Codecast members Tanisha Long and Shalyah Evans, Elite Model Jordan Murray, and NBA Player Charles Jenkins.

La Gringa Tacqueria, based in Williamsburg, provided food to the talent/press area, which also included desserts from Blue Sky Bakery. Many local Brooklyn natives were delighted to see La Gringa, a popular Tex-mex restaurant often seen with a line outside its establishment, in support of Prospect Park’s event.

As the evening progressed, Multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter/producer Ben Folds showcased some of his pop hits in a special solo performance thanks to support from Acura. This special performance was delivered amidst the Ben Folds Orchestra Experience Tour, a tour co-sponsored by Acura, in which the artist performs with orchestras in cities across the USA, as well as overseas. He played a 30 minute set.

Fans and supports drew a crowd around the ACURA branded white gran piano. The night ended with a power hour filled with fun hits from a DJ, which also resulted in a dance train around the park.
