Last Tuesday’s rainy day turned positively sultry, thanks to Haven Rooftop at The Sanctuary Hotel. Always, a splendid place to grab a cocktail and a sumptuous bite, far above the midtown mayhem, the aptly named rooftop space, was particularly sexy on this night, in celebration of its 2nd anniversary.

The Sanctuary Hotel’s owners Brandon Freid and Hank Freid celebrated in all out style, inviting guests to see the newly transformed rooftop, which was designed to capture the atmosphere of a Mediterranean oasis mixed into a tropical island—inspired, I am told, by their favorite holiday yachting destination, St. Bart’s.

Though the rainstorms might have been brutal, they certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of the revelers who came out to celebrate under the fully tented rooftop. Passed hors d’oeuvres, like mini sliders and tuna tartare, were the perfect compliment to Haven’s summery signature cocktails, the Mojito Majora and Cloudtini.

In addition to being a fabulous evening spot, Haven will now offer lunch from 11:30am to 2:30pm, with a la carte and a $29 price fixe option available and brunch among the clouds on Saturdays from 11:30am to 2:30pm.
