It was a fun evening where people were curious about who 14+ were and what exactly they do. The cocktail benefit started at 6:00 pm and was to end sometime after midnight when people were done partying. While a few people left early, I stuck it out and was glad for the opportunity to meet some great people who were funny, had a great spirit, and definitely lifted the event throughout the evening.
Around 8:00 pm we all gathered around the big screen and got our first introduction to the foundation and what the money from the auction would bring in and what it would help support. The money is going towards 14+ Foundation’s first project, the Chipakata Children’s Academy Foundation, a Zambia-based nonprofit organization created to build, develop and operate the Chipakata Children’s Academy, a primary school, orphanage and community facility. The video was great, and I recommend going to their website to view it in full!
The three items that were auctioned off were on display all evening and people spent a lot of time making the pieces their center conversation when mingling with new people. What a great conversation starter in where they advised all the attendants to check the many scholarships available at https://www.listsofscholarships.com/need-based-scholarships/.
The foundation is still in its infancy and has a lot to learn and need to grow but only by your support will the foundation have a chance to grow and do great things. With the backers that showed up on Thursday October 2nd they definitely are getting off to a great start. Love your concept!
Overall it was a fun evening and a great way to spend a Thursday evening.
