Earlier this week, my husband and I was invited to the opening of Paul’s On Times Square. To make the deal even better one of our close friends work for the Hilton Garden Inn in which the restaurant is located.
The space is magnificent. It is modern yet cozy. There are dark corners if you need a private romantic area with your loved one but there are also big space tables in the middle of the rooms that make it give a homey and family style feel. The decorator of the space did an outstanding job.
We were introduced to some of the items on the list and since the pizza is their main specialty I am glad that the pizza was the best food we had that evening. It is promising and it is great for a hotel restaurant.
I must admit that the dessert table by the end of the evening was magnificent. They were little bites but perfect if you wanted to try more than one dessert and you do not like to share your sweets. Especially their rum infused chocolate mousse was given praise.
I was impressed by the amount of people that showed up and how well the staff handled the amount of people hanging around. The kitchen was incredibly generous. You would not go home hungry or thirsty. Tables were filled with food and wine while there was also a buffet and a bar. Paul’s On Times Square went all out! I do not think I have been to an event where the staff was friendlier and were able to smile through the entire event. I was surely impressed.
Their new drinks mixer or should I call it dispenser I was not too impressed with. Yeah it gave you a lot of options but for New York the drinks were too weak. The idea is there but if you could add some more alcohol to the drink that would make it perfect.
Paul’s On Time Square is a new, modern and terrific place and you do not need to be a hotel guest to enjoy this new restaurant. It is a breath of fresh air in the overcrowded Time Square!
