On Thursday, January 29, BizBash hosted their 2015 Hall of Fame Induction ceremony at Urbo NYC in Times Square. The evening celebrated five veterans in the event industry and their many successes in event production. BizBash Founder and CEO David Adler hosted the event, along with President Richard Aaron and Editor-in-Chief Anna Sekula.
BizBash is a fantastic hub for the event and meeting industry, an invaluable resource for innovative ideas. In addition to a comprehensive online website for event planners to find venues and suppliers, they develop event planning and marketing tools produce trade shows across the nation to host event planners.
Chosen by the BizBash executive committee for their work, accomplishments, and contributions to the industry, the 2015 inductees were: Alan Liebensohn, Show Director for the New York International Auto Show; Daniele Menache, Managing Director of Alliance Bernstein; J.B. Miller, President/C.E.O. of Empire Entertainment; Gina Rogak, Director of Special Events of the Whitney Museum of American Art; and Karen Shackman, President of Shackman Associates. The event was held at Urbo in Times Square and drew over 300 guests.
Guests and honorees celebrated with a night of food, drinks, and entertainment. We loved the different food stations scattered throughout the event space, including: a charcuterie and cheese station; an Asian-themed station with tempura, noodles, buns, and sushi; a dessert station with tiramisu cups, peanut butter chocolate cake, cheesecake, macarons, and marshmallows; and my personal favorite, the macaroni and cheese station.
The mac and cheese station featured two different and equally delicious dishes. The first was a pumpkin tortellini in a fontina-blue cheese sauce with panko, macaroon, and Parmesan crumbs. The second was a more traditional elbow macaroni and cheddar cheese dish, but punched up with a jalapeno and bacon sauce with Asiago bread crumbs. The chef behind the scene was busy plating each portion, and they were all scooped up quickly!
In addition to the inspiring speeches made by the Hall of Fame honorees and the great food, guests enjoyed free-flowing drinks and cocktails, along with an excellent DJ that spun dance hits all night long.
