The first U.S. location of Burger and Lobster opened the beginning of this year after its seven U.K. locations. After jealously drooling over various Instagram photos from our friends and other New Yorkers, we finally got to check it out.
Much is the same at the American outpost, including the limited menu, designed to keep costs and prices down. The new NYC flagship location is in Chelsea and can accommodate 350 people.
We started off with some drinks and were floored when we saw the drink menu for cocktails on tap. There are “burger cocktails” versus “lobster cocktails,” but let’s be real, they were all delicious.
On the lobster cocktail side and for a little bit of sweetness, we recommend the Bread Street Bee with Reyka Vodka, St. Germain, lemon juice, and honey syrup. If you want something with a bit more kick, on the burger cocktail side try the Flatiron with Old Forester straight bourbon, Malbec Diseno, Chambord, and lemon juice. They have a great local beers from $7 to $9 in addition to a curated selection of wines.
While there is an extensive menu for drinks, they serve only three entrees. The limited menu is designed to keep costs and prices down, and great in cutting down your decision-making time. For $20, choose between a burger (cooked to your specifications), a one-and-a-half pound lobster (your choice of steamed or grilled), or a six-ounce lobster roll. All come with a side salad and fries for a complete meal.
The burger is massive and incredibly juicy with beef from Nebraska on a sesame bun. Also a bonus is that you can get bacon and cheese added on at no extra cost! Try fitting all that in one bite.
For lobster lovers, it’s difficult to go wrong with either option. You can get a 1-and-1/2 pound lobster either steamed or grilled, and it comes with a generous side of butter sauce, with the option for garlic butter sauce as well. The lobster roll contains 6 ounces of chunky lobster meat.
For all your burger and lobster needs, the choice is quite obvious. Be sure to head over and check it out for yourself!
