Usually it is trade-off between healthy and delicious when you’re trying to find a meal for lunch, especially when you have a busy workday. To our delight, Nanoon, a fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant that gives the best of both worlds, opened up a fourth location in NYC’s Fashion District.
We joined in the opening day festivities earlier this week, where they celebrated with raffles and prizes for their customers. Not only that, all of their proceeds from the opening day went to benefit Action for Healthy Kids, and organization that works to fights childhood obesity, undernourishment and physical inactivity by helping schools become healthier places so kids can live healthier lives.
Nanoosh brings a healthy and fresh component to lunching, using organic and nature ingredients. They serve up delicious contemporary Mediterranean cuisine, including wraps, sandwiches, salads, soups, hummus plates, and their signature Powerfood Plates.
Being one of the customer favorites, I tried my first Powerfood Plate. First, you select the “base” of your plate, where you choose from farro, quinoa, power greens, or hummus. Then you have two toppings that are included, and your options there include Mediterranea salad, hummus, feta cheese, chickpeas, lentils, and mushrooms. You can opt to include protein for an additional price, or just add your sauce to top it all off. I was urged to try the quinoa and added the chicken shawa, which was packed with flavor from all of the herbs and spices, which paired well with the cooling tzatziki sauce and feta cheese.
If you’re on the run, get your dish to go and even order online. If you have a few minutes to spare, sit down and savor your meal where they have bottles of olive oil at each table. They also have an array of beverages to wash it all down, and we recommend going with their in-house drinks, which include lemonade, iced mint tea, and hibiscus berry iced tea.
Building upon their delicious lunch offerings, Nanoosh also recently added breakfast to their repertoir, which include organic egg platters and sandwiches, Greek yogurt, fruit, and oatmeal, along with a selection of organic coffee and teas.
We’re excited to have all of our power lunches here! Check out all of their four locations with the addresses listed below, and stayed tuned for their fifth location slated to open in the fall near Rockefeller Center.
