Earlier this week we joined StarShop for their shopping network launch event in Times Square. StarShop is the latest in tech and fashion, a new mobile shopping network that uses celebrities to sell products, ranging from beauty and fashion to electronics and sports memorabilia.
StarShop is the brainchild of Shark Tank star Kevin Harrington and is backed by Sprint and Star Branding. They showcase the products through videos and feature them being used by celebrities: so far video spots include Eli Manning and Paula Abdul.
Before launching StarShop, Harrington was the pioneer of late-night TV infomercials in the 1980s and was named one of the 100 best entrepreneurs in the world in 1990. He is a judge on Shark Tank and is regularly featured as an industry expert in numerous media outlets.
For their launch event, StarShop set up a faux shop in Times Square that highlighted some of the brands and products they work with, including ProfilePRO, The Laundress, Stiks Cosmetiks, Editorialist, MD Complete Skincare, Chrome Girl, and Bluefly.
We tested out the app for ourselves on both our phones and a tablet. The products are easy to navigate through and it is very user friendly, making shopping a breeeze. We loved browsing through the different celebrities, which also range widely from Flo Rida, Snookie, Justin Beiber, and RHONJ’s Melissa Gorga to Rihanna, Beyonce, and Katy Perry.
Be sure to check out StarShop!
