Socially Superlative was lucky enough to attend the VIP preview party for Chefs Club Counter the week before the Fernando Santangelo designed space opened.
The new venture from the entrepreneur behind Chefs Club, Stephanie De Baets, follows in the footsteps of other fast chef concept cafeterias like the Pennsy, but brings to the table new world renowned chefs, innovative dishes, and even an outpost that causes notorious lines in LA.
The vibrant event was a who’s who from the culinary industry on Spring Street in Soho, featuring dishes from highlighted Chefs Jean Georges Vongerichten, Eggslut‘s Alvin Cailan and George Mendes.
The offering, curated by Alain Ducasse alumnus Didier Elena, features an open kitchen to give eaters insight into the preparation process that they wouldn’t otherwise get visibility into and keeps items at a price point that allows accessibility to clientele that might not have had the opportunity otherwise.
Bites included Jean Georges Counter Burger Sliders in a little branded bag, Duck Rice, Grain Bowls, Tomato and Stracciatella & Wild Mushroom and Chicory Pizzas, and Eggslut Crostinis. In perfect time for spring, full glasses of Watts Up Rosé kept guests happy throughout the night.
