Can you feel it? Birds are chirping and trees are blooming. Summer is almost here and with it comes the season opening of Cantina Rooftop in Hell’s Kitchen!
My girlfriend Natalia and I attended their re-opening and had a grand time. For those of you who follow my reviews here on Socially Superlative I also wrote about their grand opening back in 2015.
I’m a big fan of rooftop bars, especially when they’re in my neighborhood. Cantina has a very nice open space with lots of plush seating – great for both date night and after work cocktails with your friends. It features a climate-controlled retractable glass rooftop with a spectacular skyline view!
Their authentic Mexican menu from Executive Chef Gonzalo Colin is damn tasty, especially their Enchiladas Poblanas with braised pulled chicken, mole, lettuce, red onion, red radish, crema, and queso fresco. So are their homemade guacamoles: the Cantina Guacamole is my favorite.
Their resident mixologist, tequila expert and Bacardi brand ambassador Nelson Lemus created some amazing cocktails for us. You must try the Pero Woah made with Bacardi superior rum, passion fruit, coconut, and pineapple. The Chingon is damn good too with Bulleit bourbon, Crème de Cassis, pineapple, citrus, and orange bitters.
Next time you’re in Midtown you should swing over to Hell’s Kitchen and check these guys out. You won’t be disappointed. Oh, and did I mention they have a nice happy hour Monday to Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00pm?
